Foreman, Piping

About the role

GCG Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Piping Foreman to lead a crew of pipe fitters, welders, riggers and helpers in the execution of daily piping activities on oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assign daily tasks to the crew as directed by the Piping Supervisor and monitor progress.
• Supervise fabrication, fit‑up, erection, installation and alignment of piping systems according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Verify availability of correct materials, fittings, valves and supports before work commences.
• Ensure workmanship meets quality standards and project requirements.
• Oversee installation of pipe supports, valves, flanges, gaskets and related components.
• Enforce company HSE policies, permit‑to‑work procedures and safe work practices.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure use of required PPE.
• Coordinate with QA/QC during inspections and address punch items and non‑conformities.
• Assist with hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, flushing, reinstatement and pre‑commissioning activities.
• Maintain housekeeping and a safe, organized work area.

Required profile

• ITI/Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in piping construction.
• At least 3 years experience as a Piping Foreman on oil & gas projects.
• Willingness to work in remote locations as required.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
