General Manager – Ship Management & Operations

About the role

Viviana Shipping is seeking a General Manager to lead its ship management and operations function in Dubai. This senior, full‑time position will be responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end performance of maritime assets, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all ship management activities, including maintenance planning, crew coordination and vendor management.
• Develop and enforce operational policies, budgets and performance metrics.
• Monitor vessel performance, safety and environmental standards, preparing regular operational reports.
• Lead cross‑functional teams and manage relationships with ship owners, tenants and strategic partners.
• Support strategic investment decisions and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements and risk‑management measures across the maritime and property portfolio.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in ship management and maritime operations, with proven fleet oversight.
• Strong background in operational planning, safety compliance and cost control.
• Demonstrated leadership of diverse teams and coordination of contractors in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in real‑estate or property‑related operations is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business Administration or related field; professional certifications are advantageous.
