Geotechnical & Earthworks Manager

About the role

The Geotechnical & Earthworks Manager will lead the design and delivery of geotechnical, earthworks, drainage and tunnel solutions across projects in the UAE and Oman. The role ensures technical quality, constructability and safety while coordinating with design, construction and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver all geotechnical and tunnel design works through each design stage, ensuring compliance with project criteria.
• Perform technical reviews of geotechnical analyses for foundations, embankments, pavements and retaining systems.
• Plan, scope and oversee geotechnical and geophysical investigations, laboratory testing, and data interpretation.
• Prepare geotechnical memoranda, design reports, drawings and specifications.
• Provide engineering support and construction oversight for earthworks, ground improvement, foundations, tunnels and rock‑slide mitigation.
• Conduct nonlinear site response and soil‑structure interaction analyses using finite‑element software.
• Design shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, seismic assessments and temporary tunnel supports.
• Develop stormwater, drainage and flood‑control designs, reviewing hydrological and hydraulic data.
• Coordinate design reviews and technical matters among construction managers, consultants and contractors.

Required profile

• Assist other business units on geotechnical and earthworks issues.
• Interact professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, drillers and clients.
• Participate in routine safety and quality inspections.
• Promote health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate to meet legal and company requirements.

Required skills

• Finite element analysis (FEA) for site response and soil‑structure interaction.
• Geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing.
• Design of foundations, tunnels, earth‑retaining systems and slope stability.
• Seismic and slope stability assessment.
• Stormwater, drainage and flood‑control design.
