Global Markets & Expansion Expert (Senior)

About the role

This senior strategic position supports a Dubai government‑backed SME ecosystem by preparing local small and medium enterprises for international growth. The role will design frameworks, market‑entry strategies and partnership models that enable SMEs to enter, establish and expand in global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive framework for assessing SME readiness for international expansion, covering product, pricing, branding, certification, logistics and regulatory aspects.
• Create market‑entry playbooks, tools and guidelines tailored to Dubai SMEs.
• Identify and prioritize target international markets and sectors aligned with Dubai’s economic priorities.
• Facilitate connections between SMEs and overseas buyers, distributors, trade agencies and strategic partners.
• Coordinate SME participation in international exhibitions, trade missions and other global opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with trade agencies, chambers of commerce and international business networks.
• Establish processes and operating models for the Global Markets & Expansion function.
• Benchmark best practices from global SME internationalisation models and adapt them to the Dubai context.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in international business, export development, global market expansion or SME internationalisation.
• Proven track record in designing international expansion strategies, market‑entry plans and readiness assessments.
• Experience working with SMEs to develop export‑ready products and capabilities.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, logistics and certification requirements.
