Green Building Specialist – Sustainable Design & Certification

About the role

Bureau Veritas is expanding its green building and building performance services across the Middle East, Caspian and Africa. The Green Building Specialist will act as the regional technical anchor, supporting business development, proposal preparation and delivery of energy audits, certifications and advisory assignments under international and local green building schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Business development support – identify, qualify and pursue green building opportunities, act as subject‑matter expert in client meetings, map regulatory landscapes and build relationships with certification bodies and authorities.
• Proposal development – lead technical writing of proposals and tenders, create cost estimates, maintain a reusable proposal library and coordinate multidisciplinary input across product lines.
• Project delivery – conduct ASHRAE Level I‑III energy audits, develop energy models (IES‑VE, DesignBuilder/EnergyPlus, eQUEST), analyse financial performance of ECMs, manage end‑to‑end certification assignments (LEED, EDGE, Al Sa'fat, Estidama, Mostadam, GSAS) and provide design‑stage advisory on passive design, water efficiency and embodied carbon.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 6–8 years of experience in green building consultancy, energy auditing or sustainability design, with proven work in the GCC/MCA region.
• Delivered at least one full certification cycle under LEED and one local scheme such as Al Sa'fat, Estidama, Mostadam or GSAS.
• Professional credential (e.g., LEED AP, EDGE Expert, Estidama PQP, Mostadam AP, CEM, CMVP).
• Strong technical writing in English and willingness to travel across the region.

Required skills

• Energy audit standards (ASHRAE Level I‑III) and utility‑bill analysis.
• Energy modelling tools: IES‑VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, eQUEST.
• Green building certification schemes: LEED, EDGE, Al Sa'fat, Estidama, Mostadam, GSAS.
• Financial analysis of energy‑conservation measures (savings, CAPEX, payback, IRR, lifecycle cost).
• Project management, budgeting and resource coordination.
