About the role

Nibras is seeking a passionate, qualified Homeroom Teacher to join its expanding team. The role involves creating a safe, stimulating classroom environment where every pupil can make exceptional progress through meaningful learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations, inspire and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
• Establish a respectful, safe classroom climate and promote mutual respect.
• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that develop knowledge, curiosity and a love of learning.
• Assign appropriate homework and out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.
• Monitor and reflect on pupil attainment, progress and outcomes, providing guidance for self‑reflection.
• Contribute to curriculum design and adapt teaching to meet diverse learner needs.

• Qualified teacher with a commitment to the school’s vision of ‘amazing learning’.
• Demonstrates positive attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Shows accountability for pupil progress and an understanding of how prior knowledge influences learning.
• Promotes high standards of literacy, articulacy and correct use of Standard English.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum areas.
• Understanding of systematic synthetic phonics for early reading.
• Knowledge of effective early mathematics teaching strategies.
