HSE Engineer – Oil & Gas (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

The HSE Engineer will ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental policies for electrical and instrumentation activities on ADNOC projects. You will lead the on‑site HSE team, conduct risk assessments and drive continuous improvement of safety performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the HSE team on site and coordinate with company and client representatives.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, HAZID and HAZOP studies for electrical and instrumentation work.
• Develop and implement control measures, permit‑to‑work and LOTO procedures.
• Monitor compliance with local, state and federal HSE regulations and ADNOC standards.
• Investigate incidents, prepare corrective actions and conduct toolbox talks.
• Deliver training programs and emergency response drills for electrical and instrumentation scenarios.
• Track HSE performance indicators, prepare reports and support project audits.
• Maintain emergency response plans and ensure readiness of safety equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or HSE related field with 7‑9 years of oil & gas experience.
• NEBOSH IGC certification; additional IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA, First Aid or Fire Safety certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, LOTO and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent communication, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to work on‑site at various ADNOC locations.
