IB DP English Language & Literature Teacher

About the role

The school seeks an experienced IB Diploma Programme English Language and Literature teacher who will deliver a rigorous, inquiry‑based curriculum that develops critical thinkers and skilled communicators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the IB DP English Language and Literature curriculum in line with IB standards.
• Develop students' critical reading, analytical writing, and oral communication skills.
• Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments (Paper 1, Paper 2, HL Essay, IO).
• Integrate Theory of Knowledge links and global contexts into lessons.
• Differentiate instruction for EAL, SEN, and high‑achieving learners.
• Utilise educational technology to enhance engagement and independent learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student development.
• Collaborate with the English department and wider IB team on planning and curriculum development.
• Support school events, literary activities, debates, and enrichment programmes.
• Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies at all times.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualifications and experience delivering the IB DP English curriculum.
• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo background, reference, and police checks.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including EAL and SEN students.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
