Instructor Of Food Science

About the role

The Department of Food Science at United Arab Emirates University seeks a full‑time Instructor to lead laboratory sections for undergraduate Food Science courses and support research‑oriented learning.

Key responsibilities

• Teach laboratory sessions for subjects such as food chemistry, food analysis, food microbiology, food processing, food safety, sensory evaluation, quality control and product development.
• Prepare experiments, reagents, standard operating procedures, equipment and assessment materials.
• Demonstrate analytical instruments and processing equipment, supervise students during practical work and enforce safety protocols.
• Assess laboratory reports, practical exams and assignments, providing feedback and academic guidance.
• Assist faculty with curriculum coordination, outcome assessment and accreditation activities.
• Participate in research projects under faculty supervision, handling sample preparation, data collection, preliminary statistical analysis and instrument maintenance.
• Maintain laboratory readiness, cleanliness, inventory and documentation.

Required profile

• Full‑time availability for teaching and research duties.
• Ability to prepare and deliver laboratory instruction across a range of Food Science topics.
• Capability to supervise and evaluate undergraduate students.
