About the role

GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi is seeking an outstanding High School Business and Economics Teacher to join its vibrant learning community immediately. The role involves inspiring students to develop a lifelong appreciation for business and economics within an American and IB curriculum framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including English Language Learners and gifted students.
• Foster a positive, collaborative classroom culture that promotes curiosity and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic learning.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state licence or equivalent) in Business or Economics.
• Proven experience teaching High School Business & Economics, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and support students through purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, reflective approach.
