Instrument Engineer (UAE National)

About the role

Instrument Engineer position for UAE nationals, supporting the design, development and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems for oil & gas facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of instrumentation and control systems, including preparation of datasheets, specifications and technical documentation.
• Develop instrument index, I/O lists, cause‑and‑effect charts and control philosophies; review P&IDs, loop diagrams and hook‑up drawings.
• Support FAT, SAT and on‑site commissioning, coordinating with process, mechanical, electrical, civil and piping disciplines.
• Perform detailed engineering, prepare specifications, cable schedules and logic diagrams, and develop DCS, PLC, ESD, SCADA and F&G architectures.
• Review vendor packages, provide technical bid evaluations and resolve procurement queries.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, design and constructability reviews, and oversee installation, testing, commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues during execution and operation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 0‑3 years experience for graduate level or 4‑10 years experience in instrumentation & control engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, refinery, offshore, power or EPC projects.
• Experience with FEED, detailed design, brownfield/greenfield projects and familiarity with international standards (IEC, ISA, API, IEEE, NFPA, SIL, functional safety).
