Team Leader – Process Engineering (Primary Distillation & Hydro)

About the role

Plans and coordinates the Residue Conversion Team in the Process Engineering Department, providing technical guidance to Technical Authorities and acting as interface with OEMs, vendors and licensors. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC Refining strategies, supports operations, and drives continuous improvement of primary distillation and hydro processes.

Key responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and controls activities of assigned personnel, allocating work and setting priorities.
• Provides high‑level technical guidance to Technical Authorities (TA Level 2 and 3) and leads technical investigations and studies.
• Coordinates with external agencies (OEMs, vendors, licensors) to resolve escalated issues.
• Ensures technical support for Residue Conversion units, maintaining production, plant utilization and profitability while achieving 100 % HSE.
• Leads implementation of new techniques, methods and processes to improve productivity, reliability and safety.
• Oversees budgeting, planning and execution of team activities to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operations.
• Reviews technical documents (PFD, P&ID, HAZOP) during pre‑FEED, FEED and EPC stages and approves Performance Guarantee Test Runs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of refinery plant operations and technical services experience, with at least 8 years in process engineering related to RFCC, DCU and ARDS.
• Proven leadership experience supervising engineering teams and managing projects.
