Junior Consultant – Pediatric Surgeon

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Consultant – Pediatric Surgeon to join a Government Healthcare Facility in Dubai. The role involves delivering specialized surgical care to infants, children and adolescents, working closely with senior consultants and a multidisciplinary pediatric team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage pediatric patients requiring surgical intervention.
• Perform surgical procedures within the scope of training and experience.
• Assist senior consultants with complex pediatric surgeries.
• Participate in pre‑operative assessment, operative planning and post‑operative management.
• Provide emergency assessment and management of pediatric surgical cases.
• Monitor post‑operative patients, identify and manage complications.
• Interpret laboratory, radiological and diagnostic investigations.
• Educate children and their families about diagnoses, treatment options and expected outcomes.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists and nursing staff.
• Participate in on‑call and emergency services, maintain accurate records and support clinical audits and research.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency or specialist training program in Pediatric Surgery.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and commitment to evidence‑based, family‑centered care.
