Lead Data Engineer

About the role

Core42 is seeking a visionary Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, development and deployment of next‑generation AI and data solutions. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will work at the intersection of generative AI, cloud computing and large‑scale data science, shaping national‑scale digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and implementation of advanced AI algorithms and generative models aligned with Core42’s strategic vision.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data scientists and AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Ensure responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI across enterprise and public‑sector projects.
• Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations that drive measurable business and public outcomes.
• Oversee data collection, management, governance and best‑practice standards across all projects.
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity and managed‑services teams to deliver integrated, high‑performance solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience (≈120 months) in data engineering, data science or AI development.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in fast‑evolving technology environments.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align technical delivery with business objectives.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
