Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading provider of end‑to‑end solutions for the aviation fuel industry, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to head the mechanical design of jet fuel hydrant systems, fuel storage, process equipment, pressure vessels and piping. You will drive projects from concept through detailed design to issue for construction, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic analyses and pressure‑surge modelling for fuel distribution networks.
• Create and review 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Evaluate vendor submittals and coordinate with civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation teams.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers on aviation fuel infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in oil & gas or related sectors.
• Proven experience with process and plant equipment, pressure vessels, piping and mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASME (VIII, B31.3), PED 2014/68/EU and Energy Institute publications (EI 1540, EI 1584, EI 1585, EI 1597) as applied to aviation fuel.
• Familiarity with JIG 1 and JIG 2 standards.

What we offer

• Salary range $200,000 – $250,000 USD per year.
