Lead Nurse – Institute (OPD)

About the role

The Lead Nurse – Institute (OPD) provides expert clinical nursing leadership and operational oversight for outpatient services within a designated clinical institute at King’s College Hospital London Dubai. Reporting to the Institute Clinical Director and the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, the role ensures safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care that aligns with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the senior clinical nursing presence in the institute’s outpatient department, offering guidance and decision‑making support.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day nursing operations, optimise patient flow, and ensure clinic readiness and appropriate staff deployment.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Practice Manager to implement service strategy, quality‑improvement initiatives and patient‑experience goals.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with JCI accreditation, DHA licensing, and hospital policies across all outpatient activities.
• Conduct daily rounds of the inpatient unit to monitor patient progress, facilitate discharge planning and meet discharge‑timing KPIs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in outpatient or OPD settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of JCI, DHA and local regulatory standards.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with senior clinical and operational leaders.
