Legal Officer – Emirati Talent

About the role

The Legal Officer will provide operational and administrative support to the legal department, ensuring all activities follow established policies and procedures. This role involves coordinating with multiple business units to deliver legal opinions, draft and review documents, and maintain proper record‑keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Investment Banking, Wealth Management, Retail, Treasury, Marketing, Cards, Tanmyah and other departments to provide legal opinions, letters and draft/review legal documents.
• Advise on complex banking transactions and account‑opening matters from a legal perspective.
• Maintain physical and electronic files, ensuring proper archiving and record‑keeping for all incoming and outgoing requests.
• Research applicable laws and regulations to ensure bank compliance.
• Manage external lawyers for intellectual property, corporate litigation and other specific matters, following line‑manager instructions.
• Support the line manager with foreign litigation matters and intellectual property portfolio management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
