Manager Markets - Sub-Saharan Africa & Indian Ocean

About the role

Join Etihad Airways as the Markets Manager for Sub‑Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean. You will lead a cross‑functional team of Revenue Management specialists responsible for the commercial performance of a diverse portfolio that includes South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Eritrea, Seychelles, Zanzibar and the Maldives.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue performance across pricing, demand forecasting, inventory and flight execution for the assigned markets.
• Lead and develop managers in Pricing, Demand, Flight Management and Analytics, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Execute market and point‑of‑sale strategies, monitor results and take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Oversee forecast accuracy, demand plans and pricing performance, ensuring decisions are data‑driven.
• Track competitor activity, market trends and customer demand to identify revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with Network Planning, Sales, Commercial Agreements and Revenue Management stakeholders to resolve market challenges.
• Promote a test‑and‑learn culture, leveraging insights from events and market developments to optimise outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in airline revenue management, pricing, inventory management or a comparable commercial function.
• Proven track record of leading and developing people‑leaders.
• Deep understanding of airline revenue management principles, including pricing, demand forecasting and inventory optimisation.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
