Medical Laboratory Technologist (Emirati Talent)

About the role

National Reference Laboratory (NRL) in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Emirati Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The technologist will process and analyse patient specimens across a range of laboratory disciplines, ensuring accurate and timely results that support clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, prepare and process patient specimens for testing, including phlebotomy where qualified.
• Perform laboratory analyses in Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Molecular diagnostics and Blood Bank following standard operating procedures.
• Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; conduct quality control and proficiency testing.
• Prepare reagents and control materials, manage labeling, storage and inventory of supplies.
• Ensure compliance with DHA, DOH, CAP, ISO 15189 and JCI standards as well as NRL internal policies.
• Uphold laboratory safety, hygiene and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and provide excellent service to internal and external clients.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of one month of relevant laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
