Medical Transcriptionist

About the role

The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for converting dictated medical information into accurate, formatted documents. Working within Royal Khalifa City Hospital, the role supports clinical teams by delivering high‑quality transcriptions and assisting with departmental administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and transcribe a variety of medical reports, including diagnostic test results, operative reports, referral letters, and other clinical documents.
• Operate designated word‑processing, dictation, and transcription equipment to complete assignments efficiently.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to OSH, infection‑control, and waste‑management policies.
• Proofread transcriptions for accuracy, proper grammar, punctuation, and compliance with department‑specific formats.
• Assist the department with administrative work and coordinate tasks under time‑pressure conditions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word‑processing software and transcription equipment.
• Ability to transcribe medical/audio files with high accuracy.
• Strong eye‑hand‑ear coordination for listening and typing.
