Mid Level System Designer – Design Systems for Banking App

About the role

We are seeking a Mid Level System Designer to own and evolve the design system powering our banking mobile app. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building large design systems, is fluent in Figma variables and component architecture, and understands native mobile design constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the design system foundations – color, typography, spacing, elevation – and its component library.
• Build and maintain design tokens and variables, including multi‑mode theming such as light/dark.
• Design and document components with full variant and state coverage using slot‑based, nested structures.
• Partner with engineering to ensure design‑to‑code parity, including token pipelines and component mapping.
• Establish governance guidelines, versioning, and naming conventions, and audit product surfaces for consistency.

Required profile

• 8‑10+ years of Product/UX Design experience with a strong focus on design systems.
• Proven experience setting up or managing a large design system and fluency with Figma variables, component properties, and slot/nested structures.
• Strong understanding of token architecture (primitive, semantic, alias) and atomic design principles.
• Native iOS/Android design experience and familiarity with platform‑specific constraints.
• Basic front‑end literacy (HTML/CSS fundamentals) to communicate effectively with engineers.
