OSH Officer – Fire & Safety Lead

About the role

The OSH Officer will lead fire safety and overall security within Speciality Hospital Dubai, reporting directly to the Hospital Administrator. The role ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors and vendors by managing fire protection systems, hazardous material handling and security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and correct fire safety and general safety issues throughout the hospital.
• Head the security department, supervise security staff and maintain a secure environment.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance department to ensure fire detection and fire‑fighting systems are functional and properly maintained.
• Provide regular training to all staff on fire‑fighting equipment and assess their knowledge.
• Develop and maintain an up‑to‑date safety manual in collaboration with the Facility Management & Safety Committee.
• Act as Secretary of the Facility Management & Safety Committee and keep accurate meeting records.
• Liaise with the nearest Civil Defence and Fire Brigade to ensure familiarity with hospital fire‑fighting facilities.
• Monitor handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials and report any regulatory breaches.
• Intervene whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to life, health, equipment or building.
