Principal Stakeholder Architect

About the role

WSP is looking for a Principal Stakeholder Architect to lead stakeholder and statutory authority engagement for complex development projects in Abu Dhabi. You will drive the design process from concept to delivery while ensuring compliance with local regulations and client objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate stakeholder functions for the client’s development team on behalf of WSP.
• Lead the design process independently, maintaining alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Manage compliance with architectural design teams on large‑scale projects.
• Review and submit design applications to authorities for approvals, permits and NOCs.
• Represent the practice in client meetings, presentations and negotiations.
• Monitor and report on the status of submissions and authority engagements.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and client presentations.
• Track financial performance and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Prepare and review stakeholder management plans and process flow charts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of authority requirements and NOC processes.
• Proven ability to build relationships with statutory authorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
• Experience in building design, master‑planning and construction project management.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with BIM workflows.
