Principal System Hardware Engineer

About the role

The Technology Innovation Institute is seeking a senior leader to define and own the system and hardware architecture of its Flight Controller and Mission Controller products. This role drives the integration of embedded hardware, software, sensors, communications and avionics, ensuring compliance with aerospace, safety, cybersecurity and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the architecture for Flight Controller and Mission Controller systems.
• Lead system requirements definition and technical road‑maps.
• Oversee hardware integration, validation, risk management and product certification.
• Conduct technical reviews and mentor engineering teams.
• Collaborate with customers, partners and internal stakeholders to shape product solutions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with UAV flight control and mission/autopilot systems.
• Strong background in high‑reliability embedded hardware design.
• Proven ability to lead complex hardware projects in aerospace or secure‑systems domains.
• Familiarity with aerospace safety, cybersecurity and environmental compliance.
