Senior PC Application Software Engineer

About the role

POWERTECH is a centre of excellence for propulsion technologies, designing and manufacturing combustion and turbojet engines for aerospace, defence and autonomous platforms. The role focuses on developing power electronics architectures for motor drive and motor‑generator units.

Key responsibilities

• Develop power electronics architectures for motor drive and motor‑generator units (MGU).
• Design inverter, rectifier and bridge stages for PMSM, BLDC and brushed DC machines.
• Design gate‑driver, protection and isolation circuits for high‑power switching stages.
• Select power semiconductors (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN) and perform loss and derating analysis.
• Design magnetics, DC‑link and EMI filter stages and conduct thermal and cooling analysis.
• Perform schematic design and high‑current/high‑voltage PCB layout, simulation and verification.
• Plan and support power‑stage bring‑up, integration and qualification tests in coordination with system, software, electrical‑machine, test and certification teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in power electronics and motor‑drive hardware design.
• Strong knowledge of switching converter topologies and electrical machines such as PMSM, BLDC, BDC, alternators and generators.
• Experience with gate‑driver design, semiconductor selection, loss calculation, thermal derating and magnetics design.
• Proficiency with schematic and PCB tools (Altium Designer, Mentor PADS) and simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, PSIM, Simulink).
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices and environmental qualification standards (MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑704, RTCA/DO‑160).
