Professor / Associate Professor of Applied Sociology

About the role

Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Sociology and related areas of specialization. Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve and sustain student success.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a range of specialized courses in Applied Sociology and related subjects.
• Engage in high‑quality original research and publish regularly in peer‑reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Clarivate Web of Science.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, field training, and graduate theses, providing academic and professional mentoring.
• Support curriculum development, program review, and course management in line with University standards and CAA requirements.
• Contribute to college and university initiatives, academic committees, research activities, and proposals.
• Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, and program review initiatives locally and internationally.
• Establish and maintain research, academic, professional, and community partnerships.
• Guide students in career planning and ensure they are equipped for professional challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of higher‑education teaching and research experience.
• Proven record of publications in Scopus/Clarivate‑indexed peer‑reviewed journals.
• Experience in curriculum design, program development, and academic course management.
• Experience with accreditation, quality assurance, and program review, preferably following CAA standards.
• Ph.D. in Applied Sociology or a related field.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both oral and written.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple academic priorities.
• Advanced use of educational technology, e‑learning systems, digital learning tools, and academic reporting.
