Projects Director – Commercial Real Estate

About the role

Our client, a leading commercial real estate firm in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a senior Projects Director to lead the design and construction of new developments and asset enhancements. The role sits on the executive team, shaping strategy and ensuring projects deliver on quality, efficiency and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute departmental strategy in line with corporate vision, collaborating with the CEO and executive team.
• Oversee end‑to‑end project lifecycle, from concept and design through construction and handover.
• Lead internal design teams and external consultants, ensuring designs meet brand identity, regulatory requirements and operational needs.
• Set project timelines, budgets and quality benchmarks; monitor contractor performance and enforce compliance.
• Conduct regular audits, performance reviews and audits to maintain industry best practices and legal standards.
• Manage budgeting, financial reporting and cost control to achieve profitability targets.
• Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies and change‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience (180 months) in commercial real‑estate project management or related construction leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale development projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong strategic thinking with experience contributing to executive‑level decision making.
• Excellent knowledge of local construction regulations and international industry standards.
