PWHT Technician

About the role

The PWHT Technician will carry out post‑weld heat treatment operations on site, ensuring all work follows approved procedures and safety standards. The role involves preparing equipment, monitoring heating cycles, and documenting results for client verification.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all environmental and safety precautions, wearing appropriate clothing and using safety devices.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and adhere to instructions from site coordinators.
• Set up and maintain heating elements, gauges, thermo‑couples, heating, soaking and insulation bands according to procedure.
• Program and operate the recorder, selecting correct chart speed and making required connections.
• Monitor and control heating, soaking and cooling rates in line with control system requirements.
• Read PWHT charts, complete reporting, and verify joint details as requested by the client.
• Perform inspections to avoid delays and resource waste.
