QHSSE & Sustainability Manager

About the role

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory is seeking an experienced QHSSE & Sustainability Manager to lead the development and execution of group‑wide QHSE, sustainability, ESG and operational excellence programmes across its diversified portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve QHSE, sustainability, ESG and operational excellence frameworks throughout the Group.
• Develop policies, procedures, training, document control, monitoring, auditing and performance review programmes.
• Lead the annual internal QHSE and ESG audit programme for all Group companies.
• Represent the company with auditors, government bodies and NGOs on QHSE and ESG matters.
• Identify risks, opportunities and non‑conformities, ensuring effective corrective actions.
• Conduct incident investigations, determine root causes and oversee corrective actions.
• Build engagement and accountability to strengthen the QHSE Management System.
• Design and deliver training programmes supporting sustainable QHSE, ESG and operational excellence performance.
• Develop the capability of the QHSE team, ensuring sufficient skills and resources.
• Maintain and improve the Group’s Balanced Scorecard performance management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in QHSE, sustainability or operational excellence.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and change‑management abilities.
• Proven business acumen and experience driving organisational improvement.

Required skills

• NEBOSH and/or IOSH certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt qualification.
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certifications.
• Extensive experience with QHSE management systems, auditing, risk management and incident investigation.
