Assistant Landscaping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Landscaping Manager supports the landscaping team at Le Meridien, ensuring the hotel’s outdoor spaces are well‑maintained, safe, and visually appealing. This role combines hands‑on maintenance, inventory control, and staff supervision to deliver high‑quality garden and grounds services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inventory of tools, equipment and materials; place orders for plants, supplies and replacement equipment while staying within budget.
• Record water usage from pumps and wells, install, maintain and operate irrigation systems.
• Mix, prepare and apply chemical solutions for pest, weed and disease control; keep detailed records of fertilizer and pesticide applications.
• Perform minor repairs to structures using hand and power tools; operate tractors, trucks and utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching landscaping staff; enforce safety policies and report hazards.
• Perform snow removal and ice management when required; maintain manual dexterity and physical stamina for extended periods of standing, lifting (≤50 lb) and moving across uneven surfaces.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of related landscaping experience.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
