Quantitative Developer – Systematic Equities

About the role

Millennium is seeking a senior Quantitative Developer to lead the design, build, and scaling of core trading infrastructure for a new systematic equities pod. You will work closely with quantitative researchers and the senior portfolio manager to turn research ideas into production‑ready strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the end‑to‑end trading system, including data ingestion, signal generation, backtesting, execution, and risk management.
• Make decisions on technology stack, performance optimisation, and scalability to meet low‑latency, high‑throughput requirements.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor a small team of developers and quantitative engineers.
• Translate research prototypes into production‑grade code, primarily using C++ or C# for latency‑sensitive components.
• Build and support research infrastructure such as backtesting frameworks and feature stores.
• Implement real‑time risk checks, monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
• Oversee data pipelines for market, alternative, and internal data, ensuring data integrity and low‑latency access.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and deploying high‑performance trading systems.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work directly with researchers and traders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to influence technical direction from day one.
