Regional Dry Container Flow Planning & Steering Manager

About the role

Hapag-Lloyd is seeking a Manager to lead regional dry container flow planning and steering. Based in Dubai, you will own the repositioning plan for the standard container fleet across the region, ensuring optimal utilization and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage imbalances and steer the global standard container fleet at a regional level by planning empty repositionings and handling bookings for empty shipments.
• Define and implement measures to increase fleet utilization while controlling repositioning costs and contribution levels.
• Coordinate with Trade Management, Network, and Regional Operations to secure vessel capacity for empty container movements.
• Plan dedicated vessels for evacuating or supplying empty containers in collaboration with Chartering, Network, Trade Management, and Regional Operations.
• Analyze large operational and financial data sets using analytical tools.
• Prepare management presentations, decision memos, and lead regular logistics meetings.

Required profile

• University degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, industrial engineering, finance, or information technology.
• Experience in global logistics or container shipping.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Independent work style with high ownership and an analytical mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Qlik for data analysis.
• Familiarity with FIS/COMPASS systems.
