Registered Nurse - Ophthalmology

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Ophthalmology provides specialised nursing care to patients receiving eye assessments, treatments and procedures at Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi. Working closely with ophthalmologists and a multidisciplinary team, the nurse ensures safe, compassionate and efficient patient experiences in line with organisational and DOH standards. The role is full‑time and based onsite at the Abu Dhabi facility, supporting a high‑volume eye care service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive ophthalmic nursing care, including patient assessments, treatment planning and ongoing monitoring.
• Assist ophthalmologists during diagnostic, therapeutic and minor surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and provide pre‑ and post‑procedure care, monitoring patient responses according to clinical protocols.
• Educate patients and families on eye health, treatment plans, post‑procedure care and preventive practices.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate patient information effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to M42, DOH and infection‑prevention standards, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and departmental KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Current registration as a nurse in the United Arab Emirates.
