Registered Nurse – Outpatient Department (OPD)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – OPD will join a multidisciplinary team at Royal Khalifa City Hospital to deliver safe, compassionate care to out‑patient patients and their families. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and coordination with physicians and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic patient assessments, record vital signs and identify nursing diagnoses.
• Create, implement and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the inter‑professional team.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products and provide wound‑care management while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Assist in both invasive and non‑invasive medical procedures and prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Manage medical devices such as Foley catheters, nasogastric tubes, total parenteral nutrition and enteral feeding tubes.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, and provide life‑support interventions.

Required profile

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work across departments when needed and maintain professional re‑licensure.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation.
• IV therapy and medication administration.
• Wound care techniques.
• Use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
• Monitoring and management of medical devices (catheters, feeding tubes, TPN).
