Road Safety Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a Road Safety Coordinator to lead road safety and traffic management across our project operations in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures safe transportation practices, compliance with UAE traffic regulations and project HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Road Safety Plans (RSP) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP).
• Monitor all project transport activities for light and heavy vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with journey management procedures and defensive driving practices.
• Conduct road safety inspections, vehicle audits and driver compliance checks.
• Monitor driver licensing, competency, training and approvals.
• Investigate road traffic incidents and near‑misses and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver road safety inductions and awareness sessions.
• Maintain road safety KPIs, reports and performance statistics.
• Coordinate with logistics, subcontractors and site management to ensure safe traffic flow.
• Support client and regulatory audits related to transport safety.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Safety or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years (or 3–5 years) of experience in road or transport safety within construction, EPC or infrastructure projects.
• NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely certification (mandatory).
• UAE Driving License and Defensive Driving certification.
• Internal auditing certification (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001) preferred.
• Additional certifications such as First Aid, Firefighting or PTW are an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE Traffic Laws and road safety standards.
• Experience in journey management and fleet safety monitoring.
• Incident investigation and risk assessment.
• ADNOC Road Safety approval (advantage).
