About the role
The Senior Accountant will support the Support Services Division by preparing accurate financial reports, managing payroll and fixed‑asset registers, and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards. This full‑time position is based in Abu Dhabi and works closely with internal auditors, vendors and departmental heads.
Key responsibilities
- Develop accounts and financial reports in line with Finance and Contracts Section guidelines, Ministry of Finance requirements and applicable international standards.
- Verify vendor invoices, review wage summaries and process payments through the finance system.
- Prepare data and documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Maintain and update the fixed‑asset database, calculate depreciation and record asset values.
- Perform periodic bank reconciliations with the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
- Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities, posting all transactions to the general ledger.
- Manage full payroll cycle, including benefits, final settlements, pension contributions and related reporting.
- Support budget preparation, monitor allocations, report deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify and escalate any irregularities or policy gaps to the appropriate authority.
