Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Humai is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to design and ship the AI core of its two flagship products, Mairit and Huscribe. You will build robust, multi‑step LLM pipelines, embed human‑in‑the‑loop checks, and ensure every AI output is accountable and auditable. The role is on‑site in Dubai, working closely with a senior backend engineer and mentoring a junior AI engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain LLM pipelines with retries, human gates and evaluation layers using LangGraph or similar frameworks.
• Develop evaluation suites (test sets, graders, regression tests, blind comparisons) that gate every model change.
• Select and version models across providers based on quality, cost and documented trade‑offs.
• Build retrieval systems for terminology, exemplars and policies using PostgreSQL with pgvector.
• Fine‑tune and serve open‑source models when they outperform hosted alternatives.
• Integrate OCR and vision components to handle document AI workflows.
• Mentor a junior AI engineer and collaborate with backend and product teams.

Required profile

• At least 4 years (48 months) of professional experience in AI/ML engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering end‑to‑end LLM‑based solutions in production.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and working in fast‑paced, founder‑led teams.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Dubai.
