Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

AIQ is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of robust, scalable APIs that power its AI-driven solutions for the energy sector. You will work in a fast‑paced, innovative environment, collaborating with data scientists and product teams to deliver high‑performance backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Node.js or Python.
• Develop backend services with frameworks such as Express.js or FastAPI.
• Architect and optimise database schemas and queries across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
• Implement containerisation with Docker and orchestrate workloads using Kubernetes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend development, preferably in an AI or industrial context.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
