Senior Consultant – Fire & Life Safety

About the role

WSP is looking for a Senior Consultant in Fire & Life Safety to join its Middle East team in the UAE. You will lead consultancy services for large‑scale, complex projects, shaping fire safety strategies and ensuring compliance with local and international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical input on fire detection, alarm, water‑based suppression, clean‑agent, smoke control and passive fire protection systems.
• Prepare design submissions, calculations and fire‑safety strategy reports in coordination with senior engineers.
• Verify that designs and installations meet Saudi, UAE and international fire codes through audits, site inspections and compliance reviews.
• Support fire risk assessments, hazard analyses and the development of mitigation strategies for high‑profile projects.
• Assist with integrated testing and commissioning of fire‑safety systems.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients and government authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Participate in business development activities, bid preparation and industry events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline.
• 08‑12 years of experience in fire‑life‑safety consulting.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes and international standards (SBC, IBC, NFPA, BS, etc.).
• Pursuing professional licensure or certifications (PE, CEng, CFPS) is highly desirable.
