Senior Contract Engineer

About the role

The Senior Contract Engineer will lead the contractual and commercial management of construction projects from procurement through execution. Acting as the developer‑side authority, you will protect and optimise the company’s contractual position while ensuring smooth project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer FIDIC‑based construction contracts, monitor timelines and notices, and provide contractual guidance to project teams.
• Support tender preparation, evaluate contractor submissions, identify risks, and assist in contract negotiations.
• Review, evaluate and process variation orders and change requests, maintaining variation and cost‑impact registers.
• Assess contractor claims (EOT, cost, disruption), determine entitlements and lead negotiation strategies to minimise disputes.
• Identify commercial risks, issue early warnings on potential breaches or delays, and prepare regular compliance and status reports for management.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Planning/Cost Engineers and Consultants to align execution with contractual and commercial strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• 15+ years of contract administration and commercial management experience within UAE construction, preferably Dubai.
• Deep knowledge of FIDIC contracts, claims analysis and dispute resolution.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
