Senior Contracts Officer – Civil Engineering

About the role

The Senior Contracts Officer will lead the full contract lifecycle for civil and construction projects, ensuring that all contractual, legal and technical aspects align with AL TARIQ’s objectives. This position requires close collaboration with project teams, vendors and internal stakeholders to secure optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Review Scope of Work (SOW) specifications with requesters to confirm accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and issue tender documents (ITT, RFP, RFQ) and evaluate bids based on technical and financial criteria.
• Draft final contractual instruments such as Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Agreements and Service Maintenance Agreements for management approval.
• Administer contracts during execution, including delivery follow‑up, signature coordination, and handling non‑conformances.
• Negotiate prices, timelines, payment schedules and other terms with contractors.
• Identify, assess and mitigate contract‑related risks, including potential delays and legal issues.
• Manage change orders, monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
• Oversee contract closure, confirming all deliverables and obligations are fulfilled.
• Support contract audits, inspections and prepare performance reports for management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing contracts for civil or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, tendering and contract administration.
• Excellent negotiation and risk‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
