Senior Engineer – Quality (EIT)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Engineer – Quality (EIT) to join its Das Island site in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical cable installations, terminations and related testing activities across the project. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with field teams and supporting the transition to reliable energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cable glanding training and assess/approve glanding and termination personnel qualifications.
• Review and approve cable jointer/terminator qualification certificates.
• Inspect and test temporary electrical works, connections to camp facilities, and cable support installations.
• Inspect cable tray, conduit, underground stub‑ups, and cable trench dimensions before cable laying.
• Monitor cable jointing/termination processes to ensure manufacturer recommendations are followed.
• Witness insulation resistance, continuity, Hi‑pot, IR, and bus‑bar testing, as well as final torquing of terminations.
• Supervise installation of cable tray covers and sub‑station equipment to verify compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Monitor preservation activities for switchgear, transformers, bus ducts and related equipment.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in electrical installation, testing and quality inspection.
• Ability to work on site at Das Island, Abu Dhabi.
