Senior General Ledger Accountant – GL & Fixed Assets

About the role

We are seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to lead the GL and Fixed Assets functions at our Abu Dhabi facility. The role ensures accurate recording, timely closing, and compliance with accounting standards while supporting liquidity management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily general ledger transactions and ensure proper authorization, documentation, and classification.
• Post sub‑ledger entries to the GL, review journal vouchers, and make corrections as needed.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly trial balances, financial statements, and related party invoices.
• Clear suspense accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Allocate costs to appropriate cost centres and investigate significant variances.
• Coordinate with Fixed Assets, Receivables, Payables, payroll and revenue teams to gather information for accurate reporting.
• Maintain and update bank accounts, manage bank reconciliations, and liaise with bankers.
• Support internal and external auditors by providing required documentation.
• Supervise the department’s day‑to‑day activities, streamline processes, and provide on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) and several years of experience in general ledger and fixed assets accounting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting regulations and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end closing, trial balance preparation, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
