Senior Manager – Health & Safety (Group)

About the role

The Senior Manager – Health & Safety leads the Group’s occupational health and safety strategy across all operating companies. Reporting to senior leadership, the role shapes policy, governance and performance monitoring to ensure a proactive, consistent safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Group H&S strategy, policies, standards and minimum requirements aligned with local regulations, ISO 45001 and the Group’s risk appetite.
• Establish clear H&S roles and accountabilities between the Group and OpCos and implement a robust governance and assurance framework.
• Monitor OpCo performance through audits, assessments, KPIs, leading and lagging indicators, dashboards and regular reporting.
• Identify systemic risks, support OpCos in addressing high‑risk issues, and brief senior management and the Board on H&S risk matters.
• Lead critical incident management, investigations, root‑cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Drive capability building, safety culture and training programmes across the Group.
• Collaborate with Risk, ESG, HR, Legal, Operations, auditors, regulators and external partners, contributing to ESG and enterprise‑risk disclosures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading Group‑wide health and safety functions, preferably in a multi‑entity environment.
• Deep knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, ISO 45001 and international best practice.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and KPIs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and Board members.
• Track record of managing serious incidents, investigations and systemic corrective actions.

Required skills

• Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards and implementation.
