Senior Petrophysicist

About the role

The Senior Petrophysicist will lead the collection, analysis and interpretation of petrophysical data to support hydrocarbon discovery, reserve calculations and reservoir studies. This role is critical for shaping field development plans and ensuring high‑quality data informs engineering decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and participate in the interpretation of petrophysical data to identify hydrocarbon presence, fluid contacts, and lithological models.
• Review, consolidate and integrate petrophysical reports with multidisciplinary teams.
• Advise on well completion, casing depths, cementation quality and tubular specifications.
• Coordinate petrophysical contributions to exploration, appraisal, field development and reservoir studies.
• Define scope, methodology, timing and costs for contractors and consultants.
• Maintain and improve data quality‑control procedures and standards for digitizing petrophysical data.
• Optimize rock physical properties for accurate formation evaluation and reservoir monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline with petrophysics coursework.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in geosciences, drilling, reservoir or petroleum engineering.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractor relationships.
