Smart City Systems Specialist

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Smart City Systems Specialist to join its multidisciplinary team in Dubai. You will design, integrate and validate smart city and digital infrastructure solutions across the urban environment, ensuring they meet performance, regulatory and stakeholder requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Translate smart‑city solution requirements into functional and performance specifications.
• Align smart‑city platforms, applications and field‑level connectivity, selecting optimal locations for sensors, gateways and edge devices.
• Coordinate, review and validate ICT designs, ensuring compliance with GCC telecom regulations and national ICT policies.
• Collaborate with licensed telecom operators to obtain connectivity approvals and support regulatory submissions.
• Act as a trusted systems advisor in technical workshops, design reviews and stakeholder alignment sessions.
• Define connectivity requirements for IoT sensors, surveillance, mobility, utilities, environment and public‑safety use cases.
• Review network designs covering fiber, wireless and IoT connectivity, guaranteeing scalability, resilience, security and future‑readiness.
• Facilitate smooth transition from implementation to operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field.
• More than 5 years of experience in systems engineering, ICT, communication networks or smart‑city related roles.
• Proven experience supporting smart‑city, digital‑infrastructure or IoT‑based projects.
• Strong understanding of ICT concepts, architectures and standards.
