Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

AI71 is looking for a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure that powers its AI‑driven applications. You will work closely with machine‑learning engineers, data scientists, and frontend developers to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performance backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs for AI‑focused products.
• Optimize database architectures and data pipelines to support efficient model training and inference.
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and data‑protection mechanisms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI models into production environments.
• Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance through sound infrastructure design.
• Develop monitoring and logging tools to track system health and model performance.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong expertise in Python and NodeJS.
• Proven experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or gRPC.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience building distributed, micro‑services architectures.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
