Specialist Cathodic Protection Engineer (PMC Role)

About the role

The Specialist Cathodic Protection Engineer (PMC Role) will lead the technical delivery of cathodic protection (CP) systems throughout the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase for major oil-and-gas projects in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Project and Integrity teams, the engineer will ensure CP designs, installations and monitoring meet project specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, supervise, test and approve all CP system elements, including design calculations, material datasheets and installation procedures.
• Commission remote monitoring and control systems and manage hand‑over documentation.
• Liaise with project, procurement and construction teams to resolve technical issues on‑site and in the office.
• Ensure compliance with AMPP, ISO and DNV standards throughout the EPC lifecycle.
• Provide technical authority for CP solutions on well casings, pipelines, plant piping, storage tanks, process vessels and reinforced concrete structures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Science, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (minimum 4 years of study).
• At least 15 years of experience with cathodic protection systems in the oil‑and‑gas sector.
• Minimum 10 years in a senior engineering role acting as Technical Authority for CP projects.
• AMPP NACE Level III certification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of AMPP and ISO standards for CP systems.
