Specialist Engineer – Construction Mechanical

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Specialist Engineer to lead mechanical construction activities on an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction of offshore oil & gas facilities, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support on‑shore fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction for offshore facilities.
• Review and endorse construction execution plans, work packs, method statements and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical works during fabrication, assembly, testing and pre‑commissioning phases.
• Monitor progress, identify schedule risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Validate mechanical design deliverables for constructability and installation feasibility.
• Provide technical support for static and rotating equipment installation, piping fabrication, structural interfaces, pressure testing and mechanical completion.
• Enforce project HSE policies and ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning teams and client representatives.
• Participate in progress meetings, construction reviews and prepare technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 15‑18+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years on offshore projects.
• Proven track record in offshore platform construction and strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, mechanical systems and safety standards.
• Preferable background in PMC/EPC environments; ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
