Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology (Private Practice)

About the role

The Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology will provide high-quality clinical care to women throughout the prenatal, natal and post-natal periods in a private practice setting. The role demands ethical practice, risk management, compliance with governance standards and continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal consultations, labor monitoring, delivery, and post-natal follow-up.
• Perform Cesarean sections and other surgical procedures to ensure safe outcomes for mother and baby.
• Conduct well-women examinations such as pap smears, pelvic and breast exams, and provide appropriate screening.
• Order, analyse and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, biopsies and laboratory results.
• Prescribe medications, antibiotics and post-operative treatments, ensuring clear documentation.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side-effects and lifestyle recommendations.
• Supervise and advise nursing staff, physician assistants and medical technicians on clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Commitment to ethical, patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
• Ability to manage clinical risks and adhere to governance and documentation standards.
• Strong communication skills for patient education and multidisciplinary teamwork.
